Invented by Masayoshi Katsuoka of the Myuki Shoji Co, and introduced in 1982, Delica are the highest quality, most uniform of seed beads. Of the cylinder variety of seed beads, Delicas are characterized by their uniformity of size and shape. Their holes are larger than other seed beads, and their uniformity and flattened ends lead to a flat, smooth finish in the finished product. This also means that rows and columns in weaving are much more uniform.
